I'm not understanding what is happening to my 'status', i.e., king bed, and the number of posts. The number of posts I have made is decreasing. I thought that number continued to climb even if the items had been removed over time, otherwise I do not understand how folks get to the thousands with the number of posts. My number of posts decreased overnight by more than ten. Could you please advise? Thanks.

Sarah1, I'm not part of the OG, but I know that this happens when threads are pruned or combined, and you posted to them. For instance, if you post to the Next Person or to Word Associations, which are completely cleaned out from time to time, you lose all the posts you made in those threads. Others which are combined into stickies have a similar effect, if the pruning eliminates some of your posts.

Fear not, it's just the MoD (Moderator of Doom)

Everyone has seen their post count diminish at one time or another, even to the loss of a certain status (like King Bed down to Queen). Some threads are auto-pruned, meaning that after a certain amount of time, if no one posts to them, the thread automatically disappears. Other times, the MoD cleans out old threads that have become inactive, or merges them with other threads that have the same topic.

Don't worry, it isn't just you!!!

Thanks Mr. Rkt and Dale, that explains it. I had just not noticed it before with anyone else (but who looks at that number that often or even remembers it?) and I noticed the big change overnight. I'll just continue to post as usual!

I've noticed lately (in my "Bulk" folder..on yahoo) that I've received a lot of pretty raunchy emails. I didn't open them, I figured it was just spam. This is the only site I visit regarding to sex and was curious how the OG goes about protecting our email addresses or if we've been hacked somewhere along the line.

This is not an OG job. It's a techie job and the technical end of TMB is covered very well.

The data base for this system is secure. We have major protection to the site (security is regularly updated) in terms of dealing with hackers to the site.

The spam on the boards the past months were from spambots that joined the boards, sent spam posts and then moved on. They did not have access to any part of the system, including the data base with emails.

Huge amounts of porn spam are sent out to any e-mail address that can be found or guessed. Yahoo, AOL, hotmail and now Gmail accounts are often easy targets for this. In short, the spam is in no way connected to you being here.

BTW, if you Google your e-mail address, you will find it only comes up in one place - someplace you put it. I bet a bot found it and has put you on a spam list.

Almost a year ago I posted a question regarding a Christmas wish that my husband had purposed to me.

I was surprised that the post was closed after less than a month. Well it has been almost a year since that Christmas wish and I wanted to post an update but I now find that my post has been completely pulled.

How come? Considering some of the topics here I am surprised that people would find Nudity with in the home offensive. Seeing how we were created like that, and God declared it good. Even after the fall there is no 11th Commandment from God telling us to wear clothes 24X7. Of course unless someone were to take some passages out of context.

We have been blessed by a few here that have continued to write us. Yet are very disappointed that my post was pulled. I/we have been greatly blessed this year. As I continue to strive to be the submissive wife that God would have me be. Trusting in the Lord to take care of the over all picture while I take care of one minute at a time.

It's routine pruning of threads, it happens all the time, so don't take it personally. If you want to post to the "sticky" regarding nudity, that would mean your post would stay there as long as the sticky stayed there.

It's funny that a lot of other much older post that have been around a lot longer are still out there. I wonder what really went on, in stead of getting the canned answer? I mean my gosh we are talking not quite a year.

I don't think they removed it because there was something wrong with your thread. They regularly pick and choose topics and delete them. It's not always based on dates. I don't know what the criteria is but several of mine have disappeared as well. The moderator of DOOM hits us all.

I started a thread in January about my parents being in a car wreck and asking for prayer. It was posted to regularly for 7-9 months, pages and pages of comments. But it stopped getting posts and it was pruned, even though it was larger, more recent, and more active than your thread. Somehow, I don't think there was any kind of conspiracy against people's prayers and encouragement for me and my mom. Who knows, maybe your missing thread was just part of a routine pruning, too!

Pruning is an ongoing process for us. We have so many posts (last month we had 10,615 new posts) that, if we don't prune, the boards become overwhelming and hard to navigate. Moderators prune when they have some spare time (which honestly isn't that often, we all have lives and these boards are always a challenge to moderate). It's a rather random process in that we just pick a section and start in. This would account for some old posts being around and others not. We're just working through things the best we can.

When pruning we usually remove the oldest threads or threads that have not been posted to in a great while. Chit chatty threads are likely to go, as are threads that are duplicates of new discussions, though we sometimes try to combine threads with common themes.

If your post had been removed because it broke board rules, you would have been notified by a moderator. If your posts are gone with no notice, it's just a part of pruning. There was nothing wrong with your posts, they just went the way of all posts that age here on TMB.

The reason being is that we are a Christian lingerie site with no nudity and no models and we make sure that we remove any from the products if there is any.

If this isn't ok posting anything about us here where would you suggest we go? We are new at owning our business so any word of mouth is what we have to work with since we don't have much in terms of money for advertising.

You know what, I think you actually can't have a signature until you've accumulated a certain number of posts, maybe 7? So post a little and then you'll have the ability to add a signature by clicking on "Profile" on the top once you're logged in.
