Could this be updated again? Keep seeing some acronyms, and am unsure of meaning in context like WAM. Surely there may be others.

What is needed to get SMILIES to work?

WAM is a very new term by a new poster, so it's not in the list because it's very unusual. WAM stands for "Wet and messy", which is a particular fetish one of our users has. Look through all the threads by JD91 and you will understand what he's talking about.

Smilies are on two pages - if you are posting from an old school PC, the smilies should show up on your right, with an option to "view more smilies" beneath.
"When you love them, they drive you crazy - because they know they can."
(From the 1987 movie "Moonstruck", written by John Patrick Shanley)

With the smilies, you might go to your "user control panel", click on the "board preferences" tab, then click on "edit posting defaults" and make sure your smilies are enabled. Also check under "edit display options" and make sure "yes" is marked under the smilies option.

I don't really know much about this kind of thing, but it might be worth a check. :D
God can change what people do, behavioral patterns that have been in play for decades. He can change what we do to cope, find comfort, survive conflict, to count. Rahab had done a same old thing for years...then she did something new.
